Farrow, based in Windsor, specializes in logistic services and moving goods across international borders. The company is renowned for giving back to the communities in which they operate. In their efforts to support both their employees and not-for-profits, the company established an innovative program whereby employees are paid for time off to volunteer in their communities.

  • Create a dedicated Volunteerism Portal for Farrow staff
  • Enable tracking and reporting features to monitor program success
  • Customizable and individual profiles for all staff

Solution

As a company of nearly 700 employees, with offices across Canada and the United States, the organization was in need of a system to assist them in managing their unique employee volunteer support program. The Volunteer Team also wanted to be able to track the program’s success and the company’s progress in supporting the many communities in which Farrow can be found. In doing so, Farrow approached partners Intent and Sandbox Software to develop an online portal which would empower Farrow staff to effectively participate in the Volunteer Programs while providing rich reporting functionality to monitor the program’s success.

Outcome

The Farrow Volunteerism Portal allows Farrow employees to quickly and easily manage their volunteer time, including building their profile, identifying volunteer opportunities and tracking their volunteer history. The portal also provides managers, Human Resources and the Farrow Volunteer Team with insight and tracking abilities to ensure the program runs smoothly. With the assistance of the portal, Farrow has also brought additional attention to their volunteer program and is quickly growing their participation rate among employees.
