Solution
Sandbox Software worked alongside the City’s designers to build the new KitchenerEvents.ca website. Built in the OASIS Content Management System, the new special events site engages the audience, drawing them in to learn more about individual events and activities happening across the city. The new website calendar features integration with other City of Kitchener events calendars, making KitchenerEvents.ca the go-to website for what’s happening in the City.
Outcome
In addition to effectively promoting events, the new KitchenerEvents.ca also makes it easy for event coordinators to learn more about rental venues in the city and how to plan their events. Online forms for vendor registration have helped to streamline event coordination, and have reduced manual processes for the City of Kitchener Events staff.
Kitchener Events uses the OASIS Events Calendar module. This feature comes with an array of out-of-the-box functionality such as event registration.

The new website includes the OASIS advanced search, which leverages Lucene. This software allows for a robust search of the entire website. Custom categories were applied by Sandbox so users may filter their search results.
