Traditionally, Waterloo Region District School Board had published their Annual Report to their website as a PDF. In 2017, the Board is decided to develop a more engaging digital experience for their readers through an Annual Report Microsite.
- Build a new Annual Report microsite
- Develop page templates to support new page types (letters, financials, enrollment numbers)

Solution
Sandbox and Intent (design partners) collaborated to design and build the new Waterloo Regional District School Board (WRDSB) Annual Report microsite using the WordPress CMS. The site was built to meet WCAG 2.0 Level A accessibility standards and work well across a range of device and browsers (responsive design). Sandbox also developed the CSS and Javascript to support the custom engaging and interactive elements designed for the site by Intent.
Outcome
Instead of uploading the their Annual Report as a PDF to their main site, the WRDSB now has a dedicated mircosite to feature stories, student letters, the directors message, strategic plan, operational goals and key numbers related to budget and enrollment.
